Architecture Overview

Satori consists of several core components:

Bitcoin Block Mirroring

Satori continuously mirrors every Bitcoin block, ensuring that all Bitcoin transactions are available in the EVM environment. This allows smart contracts to read and react to Bitcoin transactions programmatically.

EVM-Compatible Smart Contracts

Developers can deploy smart contracts on Satori, using Solidity and existing EVM tools to interact with Bitcoin-native assets, including BRC-20 tokens, UTXOs, and ordinals. Smart contracts also have access to Bitcoin transactions, allowing us to implement the logic of any protocol that uses BTC as a data availability layer (such as Runes, BRC-20). This, combined with other EVM programs, provides limitless extensibility.

Multi-Chain Interoperability

Satori layer comes with automatic cross-chain capability that includes the base Bitcoin layer as a source/target. This means that assets and transactions can seamlessly move across different blockchain networks while maintaining Bitcoin as the settlement layer.

BTC as the Fee Token

Satori transactions are paid using BTC, ensuring seamless integration with Bitcoin’s economy. The Satori token ($SATORI) is used for cross-chain messaging and liquidity provisioning but remains abstracted from the user experience.

Permissionless Bitcoin Bridge

Bridging BTC to and from Satori is facilitated by a permissionless staking mechanism, making it the first truly permissionless L2 bridge. Anyone can directly contribute to the bridge in minutes, ensuring a decentralized and accessible bridging process.

UTXO Representation as NFTs

Bitcoin UTXOs are tokenized as NFTs when transferred onto Satori, allowing full programmability while preserving the native properties of Bitcoin transactions.

Pluggable Consensus Mechanism

Satori supports multiple consensus models, allowing different Layer-2 and Layer-3 networks to operate under a unified ecosystem while communicating natively with Bitcoin.
